Before I called myself a portrait photographer, I was a professional ballet dancer. I started when I was 3-yrs-old and trained until the day I traded my first love (ballet) for my last love (my husband). Years of performing taught me how expression and subtle changes in body movements tell a story, how lighting is intentional, and how to look picture-perfect. I learned many photography lessons through the lens of ballet. It truly gives me an advantage in guiding my clients through their photo shoots.
